Schenectady's
Neighborhood Watch was
formed in the late '70s,
with an initial seven
members, working under
the direction of
Schenectady Police
Sergeant Raymond Wemple.
Today, with nearly two hundred members,
the Watch holds meetings in many of
Schenectady's neighborhoods, maintains
regular patrols and provides information
about suspicious activities to the
police. The following is a list of
monthly meetings of the Schenectady
Neighborhood Watch. All are invited to
attend. One service, Child Find, is credited
with saving the lives of a number of
small children and adults in need of
care, and is called several times a
month to help police with urgent
searches.
The group also provides security and assistance for area
events and races. Center.
The Neighborhood Watch works under the
auspices of the Police Department of the
City of Schenectady.
