SUBJECT:Arrest of PIMENTEL, Jose in Schenectady

On November 30, 2005, members of the U.S. Secret Service approached members of the Schenectady Police Department in reference to PIMENTEL, Jose (11-8-84) using stolen credit card information to purchase an Apple computer. Members of the Detective Division assisted the Secret Service in executing a search warrant at 1028 Willett St, resulting in the recovery of the Apple computer. PIMENTEL was arrested and charged with Identity Theft in the 1st Degree, a Class D felony, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree, a Class E felony.
PIMENTEL was arraigned on December 1, 2005 on those charges and remanded to the care and custody of the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Department with bail set in the amount of $2,500 cash or $10,000 bond. On December 2, 2005 bail was posted and PIMENTEL was released. On January 4, 2006 the case was transferred to Schenectady County Court and on February 27, 2006 PIMENTEL pled guilty to Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th Degree to answer both charges. On May 5, 2006 PIMENTEL was sentenced to five years probation and on January 3, 2010 his probation supervision was transferred to NYC’s Office of Probation. There were no other contacts or arrests of PIMENTEL in the City of Schenectady during the years that he lived here.
