SUBJECT:SHOTS FIRED CALL - ARREST MADE & 2 GUNS RECOVERED

At approximately 6:15 this evening, our Communications Center received several calls for a male shooting a handgun in the parking lot of Lincoln Elementary School, 2 South Robinson Street.

Callers reported that after firing the gun, the subject walked into the school playground area and placed an item in some bushes. He then hopped the fence and headed toward State Street. A description of the subject was broadcast to patrol officers responding to the area, and he was located shortly thereafter on Western Parkway. The man was taken into custody without incident. He did not possess a gun at that time.

Officers searched the school grounds, and located 2 handguns and ammunition in the area where the man was seen placing something.

At this time, the investigation of the incident is continuing at Police Headquarters.

Charges against the subject are pending. When he is formally charged, his identity and mug shot will be forwarded.
