The 59-year-old woman missing since May 17th (see May 20th News Release) has been located unharmed in Tampa, Florida.

Joanna Rainville is mentally ill and was reported missing when she failed to meet her scheduled pick-up after an appointment at the Ellis Hospital Day Treatment Center at 502 State Street. She had not been seen or been in contact with anyone since. Her whereabouts were unknown until late Wednesday afternoon when a mental health care worker at a Tampa treatment facility Ms. Rainville sought treatment at entered her name into an Internet search engine, discovered that she had been reported missing and contacted the Department.

After leaving the Ellis Hospital Day Treatment Center on May 17th, Ms. Rainville withdrew money from her bank account and took a flight from Albany International Airport to Tampa, where she stayed in a hotel until seeking treatment for her illness.

No foul play was involved in Ms. Rainville’s disappearance.
