SUBJECT:UPDATE : Howard St. Stabbing on Monday, Aug 18-03

An arrest has been made in the stabbing that occurred last night at about 7:55 p.m. in front of 1030 Howard Street. Rudolph George, 36, of Schenectady, was arrested this morning and charged with Assault-2nd degree (a felony). He was arraigned in Police Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail.George stabbed 18-year-old Anthony Riveria, of 1028 Howard St., once in the back during an argument. George ran from the scene prior to police arriving. Riveria was treated at the scene by Schenectady Fire Department paramedics and then transported to Albany Medical Center for further treatment. He was released earlier today. George is an acquaintance of Riveria’s uncle, and had been staying with them at 1028 Howard Street. Detective Thomas Adach spotted George at 6:30 this morning walking on Liberty Street. He was taken into custody without incident.Detective Robert McHugh lead the investigation.
