SUBJECT: DRUG RAID @ 604 STATE ST. HUSBAND & WIFE ARRESTED


As a result of an investigation by Vice Detectives, members of the Vice Squad,the Special Operations Squad and City K-9 unit raided 604 State Street (Apartment 8) this morning where crack cocaine was being sold.

The husband and wife residents were arrested. Sylviana Padilla, 17, has been charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance-3rd degree (a felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance-3rd (a felony), and CPCS-7th (a misdemeanor). Paul Davis, 31, has been charged with CPCS-3rd.

Both are currently being held in the lock-up at Police Headquarters awaiting arraignment in Police Court.

Officers seized 2 ounces of crack and powder cocaine (street value of $6,000), and nearly $1,100 cash.

Incidentally, Padilla and Davis were the victims of a home invasion on Tuesday at about 1:00 a.m. in which 3 men (2 armed with guns) forcibly entered their apartment while the couple was in bed, bound them with duct tape, and demanded money. Another resident in the building saw the incident and called police. Responding officers arrested the 3 men inside the building. The men had heard that crack was being sold in the apartment and were robbing the couple.
