SUBJECT:FAMILY DOLLAR STORE ROBBERIES
Two Family Dollar stores have been robbed in the past two days, and it’s possible that the same person committed both.
The store at 1491 State Street was robbed at gunpoint at about 3:45 this afternoon.
A black male entered the store, pointed a silver handgun at two employees and demanded money. They complied and gave him an amount of money that is not being disclosed. He then left the store and fled the area on a mountain bike.
The suspect is described as being 5’8” tall and weighing about 140 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt over a red fleece and dark pants.
A similar robbery occurred at about 4:10 on Saturday afternoon at the 1020 Crane Street store.
In that incident, a black male having a similar description entered the store, pointed a silver handgun at the cashier and demanded money. When she refused, the robber kicked her and then grabbed a package of t-shirts and boxer shorts as he left the store. He then fled the area on a mountain bike.
