SUBJECT:MAN ARRESTED FOR STABBING NEIGHBOR DURING FIGHT

A 37-year-old city man was arrested Monday night shortly after stabbing a neighbor during a fight the two got into.

The incident occurred at about 9:30 p.m. inside the hallway of 410 Union Street apartment building where both men live. Carlton Bullard, of Apartment 2, was walking back to the building when 25-year-old Justin Kwiatrowski, of Apartment 3, began screaming threats to Bullard from a window. When Bullard entered the building, Kwiatrowski approached him and punched him in the shoulder. Shortly after they began to fight, Bullard pulled out a knife and stabbed Kwiatrowski twice in the chest. Bullard then ran from the building.

Kwiatrowski sustained a collapsed lung. He was treated at the scene by Schenectady Fire Department paramedics and airlifted to Albany Medical Center. His condition is not known.

Bullard was apprehended a short time later on Erie Boulevard and charged with the felony of Assault-1st degree. He was arraigned this morning in Police Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail.
