SUBJECT:NO VIOLATIONS IN UNDERAGE ALCOHOL SALES INITIATIVE

The Department and the New York State Police recently conducted an underage alcohol sales sting at 51 city stores that sell alcoholic beverages. This initiative was part of an ongoing effort to verify that stores selling alcoholic beverages in the city are complying with the law. The Department is pleased to report that no underage sales were made and every store complied with the law.

Public Safety Commissioner Wayne Bennett stated, “We are very pleased that every one of the businesses we tested complied with the law. These results show that stores in Schenectady are taking the law seriously, which assists us in our public safety efforts.”
