SUBJECT:MAN CAPTURED MINUTES AFTER ROBBING CVS PHARMACY
A 26-year-old city man has been arrested for robbing the CVS Pharmacy on Broadway in Bellvue this morning.
At about 9 a.m., Robert J. Shaylor, III, of 241 Cherry Street, walked into the store and handed an employee a note that implied that he had a gun and demanded money. The clerk complied and Shaylor ran from the store with an amount of money that is not being disclosed. A man in the parking lot saw Shaylor running from the store and thought it was suspicious. When Shaylor got into a sport utility vehicle that was parked nearby on Fairview Avenue, the man followed him in his vehicle to Shaylor’s residence 3 blocks away. After Shaylor went inside, the man called police and responding officers took Shaylor into custody. The money he took in the robbery was recovered and he was positively identified.
No one was injured in the incident and it was determined that Shaylor was not armed.
Shaylor is charged with the felony of Robbery-1st degree. He was arraigned and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail.
