SUBJECT:ARRESTS MADE IN LAST WEEK’S VANDALISM SPREE
Schenectady Police Detectives have identified and arrested three individuals responsible for last week’s vandalism spree. Nicholas R. Snow, 20, 809 Eastern Ave., Schenectady, has been arrested and charged with one count of Third Degree Criminal Mischief for vandalizing Schenectady High School on August 7th. Snow is currently being held in the Schenectady Police lockup pending a Tuesday morning arraignment. Additional charges are expected.
In addition, two juveniles, ages 14 and 15, have been petitioned to Schenectady County Family Court for their involvement in the August 7th crime. Due to their ages, we can not release their identities. They are being processed to be placed in a secure juvenile facility pending their Family Court appearance tomorrow. Additional charges are expected.
Detectives continue to investigate the vandalism spree that began August 7th on Schenectady’s northside. Other affected areas in the city were Mont Pleasant’s Crane Street and Bellevue’s Campbell Avenue area. The towns of Rotterdam and Glenville and the village of Scotia were also targeted. Residents victimized by the vandals who have not yet reported a crime are encouraged to contact the appropriate jurisdiction.
