SUBJECT:SUSPECTS IN SEPTEMBER 2007 DUANE AVE. MURDER ARRESTED
Two city men have been arrested for the murder of 29 year-old Hassan Rainey, who was shot and killed on Duane Avenue on the afternoon of September 13, 2007.
Craig N. Thompson, 21, of 64 Willow Avenue, Schenectady, was arrested this morning at his residence. Thompson was found hiding under a bed and taken into custody by Schenectady Police detectives and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Thompson was charged with one count of Second Degree Murder.
Kassun O. Brown, 16, of 10 Mynderse Street, Schenectady, was transferred this morning to Schenectady Police custody by Warren County Sheriff deputies. Brown was being held at the Warren County Jail on unrelated weapon and drug charges. He was charged by Schenectady Police detectives this morning with one count of Second Degree Murder.
Thompson and Brown were both arraigned today in Schenectady City Court and remanded to the Schenectady County Jail without bail.
The investigation is still ongoing. Progress in the case that led to the arrest of Thompson and Brown is directly attributed to the efforts of Schenectady Police detectives Tom Adach and Tom Delaney.
