SUBJECT:City Man Charged in April 15th Bridge Street Murder

A Schenectady man being held on burglary and weapons charges for his involvement in an April 16th burglary has now been charged with the murder of Anthony Brown, the 28 year-old Schenectady man shot and killed April 15th on Bridge Street.

Eshon D. Guy, 32, of 304 Strong Street, Schenectady, has been charged with Second Degree Murder after evidence and information collected in the April burglary linked Guy to the Bridge Street shooting. Guy accidentally shot himself during the course of the April 16th burglary at 307 Front Street. He was taken into custody soon after and charged with First Degree Burglary and Second Degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon. He has been held at the Schenectady County Jail since his April arrest. Guy was on parole at the time he committed the April offenses.

Guy was arraigned on the murder charge today in Schenectady City Court. He was remanded to the Schenectady County Jail without bail.

Schenectady Detectives were assisted by New York State Parole Officers in their investigation which ultimately led to charging Guy with the April 15th murder. Residents of the Front Street and Mont Pleasant neighborhoods where these shootings occurred provided valuable information in both the burglary and homicide investigations.
