Schenectady Police are currently investigating two shootings which occurred on May 20, 2008.

At 3:05 PM Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the area of 1046 Delamont Ave in the city of Schenectady. A 17 year old male victim was treated at the scene by Schenectady Fire Department paramedics for a gun shot wound to his abdomen and transported by ambulance to Albany Medical Center where he is currently undergoing surgery. A short time later a suspect matching the description of the peurpirtrator was located by members of the Patrol Division and transported to Police Headquarters where he is currently being questioned by Detectives.

At 4:41 PM Officers then responded to St. Clares Hospital where an individual was being treated for a gun shot wound to his thigh. The subject, a walk-in to the hospital, is still being treated. At this time there is no indication that the two shootings are related.
