SUBJECT:Robbery at 1639 Becker Street

Schenectady Police have made arrests following an investigation into a Thursday, October 9, 2003 robbery at Molly’s Grocery, 1639 Becker Street.

Four suspects entered the store at approximately 9:34 PM last night. One struck the clerk in the head, knocking him to the floor. The suspects stole cash from the register, and then fled the scene. Two were located a short time later behind the former CVS store at the corner of State and McClellan Streets and taken into custody. The clerk sustained a cut to his head during the robbery, and was treated on the scene by paramedics.

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged:

* David O. Knuckles, 18, 1 Barney Street, Schenectady

* Charles Stevens, 19, 1062 Willett Street, Schenectady

Knuckles and Stevens were charged with two counts each of Second Degree Robbery, a C Felony. They both were arraigned this morning in Schenectady City Court.

Additionally, a fourteen and a fifteen-year-old juvenile were each charged with two counts of Second Degree Robbery. The juveniles will be petitioned to Family Court to answer the charges.
