SUBJECT:Traffic Stop Nets Two Felony Drug Arrests

Two city men have been charged with drug felonies after a late afternoon traffic stop on Michigan Avenue.

Jorge Martinez, 32, of 947 Maple Avenue and Juan Carrasquillo, 39, of 923 Emmett Street, were each charged with Third Degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance after 85 grams of heroin was found in the vehicle the pair occupied. Both are being held in the Schenectady city lockup pending a Thursday morning arraignment.

The investigation that led to the traffic stop was conducted by detectives from the Schenectady Police Department Office of Field Intelligence and agents from the Capital District DEA Task Force.

The heroin recovered has a street value of nearly $10,000.00.
