SUBJECT:Auto Accident

Schenectady Police are investigating an auto accident which occurred earlier today. At approximately 7:45 a.m. Police responded to the area of 116 McClellan Street for a report of a domestic incident involving a girlfriend, her boyfriend and a neighbor. As they approached the scene they observed a vehicle involved in the domestic leaving the area and they attempted to stop it. The vehicle fled on Becker Street to Brandywine Ave, north to Bradley Blvd then south on McClellan Street where it struck a vehicle stopped for a red light at the intersection of McClellan Street and Becker Street, causing a chain reaction, four car accidents.

Arrested at the scene and charged with DWI, reckless driving, imprudent speed and several red light violations was Kareem Taylor 31, of 16 McClellan Street. Taylor was transported to Ellis Hospital where he is being treated for injuries from the accident. He will be arraigned later this afternoon.

Four additional people were also treated at Ellis Hospital for what is described as minor injuries.
