SUBJECT:Burglary arrest at Metroplex


The Schenectady Police Department has arrested three males, all charged with burglary for entering the offices of The Schenectady Metroplex Development Authority and MVP Health Plan at 433 State Street and stealing property.

Police officers were called to 433 State Street on Monday morning, February 1st 2010 for the report of the break. Investigating officers called in evidence technicians and detectives to inspect the scene and recover evidence. On Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2010, detectives investigating the incident arrested Rashaun I. Priest, 20, of 26 Hawk Street and Phillip J. Tucker, 16, of 8 Daggett Terrace and charged each with two counts of 3rd Degree Burglary, one for entering Metroplex and stealing property, the other for entering MVP and stealing property. A thirteen year old male was also arrested and will be charged through family court with Burglary 3rd Degree (Class D Felony) and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 5th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor).

Detective Thomas Disbrow, Detective Keith Lawyer, Officer Phillip Feldhaus, and Officer Peter Redman are all credited with making the arrests. Patrol officers Redman and Feldhaus, who are both assigned to the Downtown walking beat, identified the suspects walking downtown after being shown a photo of the individuals inside the building.

Priest and Tucker are each being held in the Schenectady Police Pre-Arraignment detention cell pending arraignment before the sitting City Court Judge this morning.
