SUBJECT:SUSPECT IN NOV 5TH WENDELL AVE SHOOTING ARRESTED


The man suspected of shooting a 23-year-old Schenectady man on November 5th on Wendell Avenue has been arrested.

Jamell Williams, 23, of Albany, turned himself in at Police Headquarters Tuesday evening.

On the day of the incident, Williams came to Schenectady looking for a girl he had dated who ended their relationship. When he saw her getting out of her car near her home, he approached her and threatened her with a handgun. When the victim saw this, he exited the vehicle and Williams shot him once in the side. Williams then fled the scene.

The victim has since been released from the hospital.

Williams is charged with Attempted Murder-2nd degree. He was arraigned in Police Court this morning and sent to the Schenectady County Jail without bail. He will re-appear in Police Court on November 25th.

The investigation was lead by Detective Mike Kelly.
