SUBJECT: SHOT FIRED DURING DOMESTIC DISPUTE – MAN ARRESTED

A 22-year-old man has been arrested after he fired a gun during a domestic incident with his 20-year-old live-in girlfriend at about 3:30 this afternoon inside 1026 Holland Road.

Ricardo Rowley, Jr. assaulted his girlfriend, causing contusions and scratches to her body. During the incident, Rowley fired one shot from a handgun, although it is unknown if he was firing the gun at his girlfriend. The bullet traveled out of the residence through an exterior wall and into a child’s bedroom next door at 1024 Holland Road where 3 children were playing. There were also several other people in that residence at the time. Fortunately, nobody was hit by the bullet and a potential tragedy was averted.

Rowley was arrested at his residence without incident. The weapon has not been recovered.

Rowley has been charged with Reckless Endangerment-1st degree and Assault-3rd degree. He is being held in the lock-up at Schenectady Police Headquarters awaiting his arraignment in Police Court at 9 a.m. tomorrow morning.
