SUBJECT:Two Arrests Made Following Schenectady High School Fight

An altercation between two female students broke out on a school bus today in the Schenectady High School parking lot as buses filled with Schenectady High School students were preparing to leave school grounds. The bus driver notified school personnel and Schenectady Police School Resource Officers assigned to the Schenectady High campus at 1421 The Plaza. As police and school personnel arrived to intervene in the altercation, a number of students that had gathered there attempted to prevent assistance from entering the bus. Two students who refused orders to move from the area were arrested after a physical altercation with police or school personnel.

* Anthony J. Armstead, 16, 25 Catherine Street, Schenectady was arrested and charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault (felony), one count of Obstruction of Governmental Administration (misdemeanor), and one count of Resisting Arrest (misdemeanor).

Two Schenectady Police Officers were injured while placing Armstead under arrest. Armstead is being held in the Schenectady Police lockup. He will be arraigned tomorrow morning.

* Ebony M. Durham, 18, 17 James Street, Schenectady, was arrested and charged with one count of Second Degree Harassment (violation). She was released pending a Monday morning arraignment in Schenectady City Court.

No student injuries were reported to Police. The investigation into the school bus fight is continuing.
